I've been working with a new team in New York over the past month and they've reinvigorated my passion for animated film in a big way. I'm rewatching a whole gaggle of films with new eyes. I just ran across this making of for Tangled. Beautiful.
Speaking of gorgeous 3d films. The Society of Illustrators in NYC has a wonderful Blue Sky Studios installation until the 5th of May. Entry if free (donations are accepted) and it is way way way worth your time for an afternoon if you're near the city. A dozen or so hand-sculpted maquettes, storyboards (analog and digital) examples of Rio rigs and lots of production info. Niiiice.
