I made a video!
Today is the day that I put #62 - titled ‘What Is The Job. When Do You Want It?’ on the shelf. I thought Instead of my usually meandering writings, I would talk you through it. You can watch it on Youtube or, I think right here.
Most of what you read here on substack starts in my sketchbooks. They are a convenient place to write down ideas before they get away from me. Most creative teachers will tell you to always carry something on which to write or draw. Those imaginative juices don’t last and if you wait until you get home, they’ll be gone.
I don’t always hand-make my books, but the last 5 have been paper I selected, including some old drawings, maps and magazines in addition to art paper and then sewn and bound. The upside is the the creation of the book is its own creative endeavor. But I’m usually not restrained enough to just choose good art papers.
Give it a watch and let me know what you think. I have lots of these and would like to do more reviews in the future.
Remember: The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference.
