studioMiguel's hard-won booty As I get olde, I find less inspiration in the work I see. And I'm getting lazier, or something. Then something like Billy Plympton's new project, Slide, comes along and upsets my whole grim outlook on the creative arts.
It's fresh, exciting, personal and completely different from 99 percent of what I see. I don't know how you can still be different when the whole world is just more of the same. But bravo.
Bill ran a kickstarter to get funding to complete his latest feature. And we got to be a part of it. At the end of every live stream, Bill and his team (John, Rachel and Saydine (sp?)) would draw from a hat to find a winner for the original sketches made during the show. And we won Jeb!
Thanks Bill Plympton. I hope this year is your first feature-length Oscar.
Animation is wonderful medium. It is magic to see two sheets flip and a 2d drawing comes to life.
