This first image is of a few faces around the cafe. Various patrons and waitstaff wiling the evening/morning away in anxious abandon.

This next image is of 'Diem'. Diem is from Vietnam and works at Cafe DuMonde as a second job. She was the absolutely sweetest person in New Orleans. I don't normally tear pages from my sketchbook, but she seemed so genuinely tickled at the terrible drawing I did of her, I could not resist the gift. The photo of her I got in return is far more valuable and beautiful.

On the left here below, are the mainstay of Cafe DuMonde... these donut-y things. And a couple of other shots from the Cafe. On the right is my chronicle of hitting the road. On our last day we took the ferry over to Algeirs (hence the life-preserver) and had brunch at Common Grounds Cafe, where Ellen was our server... we had just missed the fish market much to my chagrin. Then is was on to Northern NO and the most amazing museum.
