With the purchase of Lucasfilm, every part of what made Star Wars amazing is dead. Don't get me wrong. I'm sure I'll still wave the fan-boy pom-poms and there are (and have been) a lot of amazing artists working on the Star Wars franchise, but it's just that: a franchise. Eating a burger off of that greasy griddle at the first McDonalds was a treat, now it's just eating reheated meat-paste. There's not a single stand-out character from the new canon that's anything other than reheated Han, Luke, Darth or Obi-wan.
