We spent a lot of time in Graham TX over the summer. We were usually rushing to get home (about an hour away) but once in a while, we managed to take a little time and just look around. We found a bunch of great murals, which was a surprise in such a small place in NW Texas.
I was particularly intrigued by the ‘Wish You Were Here’ piece we spotted in Olney. When we first cruised by, I thought it was a layout fail… like the artist started to write ‘how I wish you were here’ but got it wrong and has to start over. I was very pleasantly surprised when we made the block and I realized it was that terrific Pink Floyd line.
How I wish, how I wish you were here We're just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl, year after year Running over the same old ground, what have we found? The same old fears, wish you were here
I guess the less on is: always stop and smell the roses. Or see the pictures. Watch the sunsets. You think you can always go back again, but you probably wont’ and even if you did, it wouldn’t be the same. Soak it in.
