If you follow, you noticed that I've been sadly absent the last few days... that's because Jim Thorpe PA is so incredibly amazing that I couldn't distract myself from it's wonders with silly blogging. I've just come home from the most fantastic, amazing vacation of my life. I was nearly a pile of goo when I got home Sunday night. Angie was actually crying on Saturday, moved at the thought of having to leave.
Take some, time, go there. Renew your vigor.
We studied under the amazing Marshal Arisman, the highlight of the trip was his painting demo and meeting his lovely wife Dee. They are a tremendous couple. Not to be outshone though are Victor and Joan Stabin and Anthony and Amber Freda. All terrific artists. Amber is a roof-top garden designer in Manhattan and Joan manages the gallery and restaurant at the CCCP in Jim Thorpe.
I was totally mistaken about the worshop and the Carbon County Cultural Project. I assumed it was like an art association, but no. Victor has actually purchased an old wire factory and turned it into one of the most incredible studios I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. Terrific gallery space and the adjoined restaurant (Flow) had a river running right under the dining room with a glass box over it for your viewing pleasure.
We bought a print. We don't buy many prints, but we just had to have Victor's Dangerous Symmetry.

I'll have my sketchbook from the week up soon too. That's right, in 9 days I filled an entire book.
I am thrilled.
