About 15 years ago or so, we threw a graduation party. Well, we didn't throw it, but our friends did and we wanted to contribute something unique and original to the soirée. But I also didn't have a the usual 6-8 months to procrastinate before cranking something out. The goal here was to produce a decent likeness in about 30m. The first effort missed the mark, though I really liked the finish. In the end the final effort was a much better render and likeness.
Since then, she's gone on to live and work in Canada and by all reports things are good for her. We miss you Anna!

months to futz around making a bad portrait... so I tried to paint a bad portrait in about half an hour. The result isn't a perfect likeness, but it's close enough and it has that gorgeous vibrancy that comes with the immediacy of just putting paint on canvas (or in this case, ink on paper).
